What would happen if the world got really wobbly, the power went off, the water turned off, the hot water heaters didn't work...

Or if you had a cozy cabin in the woods

or went camping and like to feel clean

Being self sufficient means living well when the the outside world turns off.

Be able to take a nice hot shower when everyone has no clue what to do.

We offer a newly designed 12v portable shower kit.

You get a mini powerful water pump, a water hose connecting to a shower head with built in on/off switch. You just attach the power to any 12v source with the included battery clamps.

I saw these shower kits at a sporting goods store a few years ago for $89.95. I found if I worked with a manufacturer with a better design and bought 500 I could offer them to you for far less. We don't just give you better ideas of what to look for. If there is a better way we will design and have them manufacturer to my specs better and far cheaper.

$39.95 + $10 shipping in the USA

Heat up some water in a big pot, connect to any 12v power, drop in the pump, turn it on and enjoy your shower.

FREE HEATED WATER
I have used these showers for years and have heated the water in a big canning pot ($18 WalMart) put on a gas stove, a wood stove or solar by putting my canning tub and cover with black plastic garbage bag and put it in the sun for a few hours. You can even get a 55 gallon barrel and surround it with hot compost for free hot water.

To get free water collect water off your roof, to a leaf catcher, and run into the biggest water containers you can get (I use 550 gallon round black tanks $400). Run a water filter coming out to where ever you need it. If your water tank is somewhat up a hill for free water pressure all the better. You can put your plants on a drip system  (www.dripworks.com) inside and out with a timer ($30 WalMart) system. Greenhouse from www.hobbygardens.com

I like taking showers in my 12x54 greenhouse filled with flowers. I put in a old fashioned claw foot tub ($40) and shower curtain. I place the tub of nice hot water on the table next to it for extra water pressure. What a joy - free solar heated rained water. The drain water goes into my grey water system- a plastic tub filled with gravel, charcoal and sand with grass growing in the top. There is a drain in the bottom. I use all biodegradable shampoos and soaps  that actually help the plants grow.

I have lately turned the greenhouse into a spa: by adding a composting toilet, (needs no water - saves 5 gallons a flush) a fancy bidet with a heated seat, a foot bath, lots of X-10 remote control twinkle lights, a small stereo, Justin's instant hot water heater, a little gas stove for making hot tea and peach cobblers, a solar powered fountain over a koi tub, and lots of plants and flowers. You can see pictures and how-to details in my new book Self Sufficiency123. Lots of idea starters!
